CARNIRIV, THE RIVERS STATE CARNIVAL ATTEMPTS A GUINNESS WORLD RECORD

On the 22nd of Novemeber, 2013, CARNIRIV,The Rivers State Carnival attempted a Guinness World Record mark when its logo was used as a unison profile picture on all social networks as well as mobile chatting platforms. The world saw the social media going Green in synchronism with the carniriv 2013 logo which depicts the theme: "GREEN WORLD EDITION". A theme meant to reflect the need to preserve our environment by taking healthier steps and inculcating an environtal friendly attitudes in our daily living.

The attempt saw thousands of people using the Carniriv 2013 logo graced in a green field background as their profile picture for the whole day.

Screen shots data accounts for over 283,000 accounts used. However, official statistics are still being awaited to come from the Guinness World Record Office.

Rivers State gradually places herself as Nigeria Tourism destination of Choice. Carniriv is slated to hold from the 15th to 21st of december, 2013 in Port Harcourt...

A DAY OF COMMUNITY SERVICE IN COMMEMORATION OF THE GREEN WORLD EDITION OF CARNIRIV 2013

Trees were planted to kick start the 1000 trees target of the 2013 carniriv. The DG,RSTDA, Dr SAM DEDE, MUMA GEE,Commisioner for environment, GTBAnk Reps, Band leaders, Band Coordinator ETC were present.

Rivers State is known as the land of a thousand masquerades. With a fine variety of spoken tongues, numbering over 300, it is somewhat easy to discern the beauty in the diversity of its peoples. CARNIRIV 2013****Expect more than Ever!

A great diversity of opportunities attends us as Rivers people and nearly all of these are a direct consequence of our state’s abundant wealth of resources. These resources are in fervent communion with the elements and with nature’s most abstract rendition of her wholesome beauty- our environment.

Our environment is the centerpiece of all of our commercial and industrial endeavors, and in our triumphant march to becoming the energy capital of Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa we owe the totality of the spoils of our conquests to the resilience and temperance of our environment and its ever-abiding civilizations.

As is widely understood, CARNIRIV is considerably funded by the government of Rivers State. With our projections to nurture the carnival into a fiscally autonomous corporate entity in the next few years, we realize private-investor participation as being largely cogent and indispensible to this objective.
